“Jon exceeds professional standards set for this profession.”
Jon Snider, 8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher, Coshocton City Schools
The following story was shared by Coshocton City Schools in selecting Jon Snider as a 2017 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator.
Jon exceeds professional standards set for this profession. He is a highly respected educator in our building and district. Administrators and teachers will often seek his input prior to instituting change or taking a risk in the classroom.
Mr. Snider takes on leadership roles as well, as evidenced by leading the English department as a department head and participating as a key member of our district's State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG) team. As an administrator, rarely is there a time when I don't seek Mr. Snider's opinion, ideas, and/or feedback. He is aware and well-researched on highly effective teaching strategies, use of technology, individualized learning, and soon-to-be an expert in Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Jon is a star. You realize this immediately, whether in the classroom, in a meeting, or fifteen seconds into a conversation. No doubt, when he is ready, Mr. Snider will be an excellent addition to our administrative team.
