Jessica Johnson, 7th Grade English Language Arts Teacher, Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools

The following story was shared by Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools in selecting Jessica Johnson as a 2017 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator. 

Jessica is thoughtful in her lesson planning and collaborates with her co-teacher, grade-level team, and disciplinary team in order to provide the best learning experience for her students. Students are actively engaged and able to demonstrate a thorough, in-depth mastery of skills and concepts through reflection, analysis, guidance, and practice. 

Jessica uses triangular data to determine needs of students and provides targeted intervention in addition to differentiating in the whole class setting. Her intensive work with writing and annotation has paid off, as even struggling learners excel in those particular sub standards on state tests.
