“Jeremy is a respected educator in our building and community.”
Jeremy Hopping, AP American Government, Global Issues, and U.S. History Teacher, Granville Exempted Village Schools
The following testimonial was shared by Granville Exempted Village Schools in selecting Jeremy Hopping as a 2016 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator.
Jeremy Hopping challenges students to meet a high level of expectations, and his students respond to that challenge. Teaching students from freshman through senior year, he engages them in class with purposeful questioning and direct instruction. His knowledge of content is unquestionable. In addition to the success his students enjoy on ACT Quality Core and Advanced Placement exams, they are equally prepared to perform well in debate and discussion settings and through the written word.
In addition to his work in traditional classroom settings, Jeremy has also relished a pioneering role with our Global Scholars Diploma Program. Associated with the Columbus Council on World Affairs, this diploma program aims at producing global fluency in our graduates. He chaperoned our first Global Scholars trip to Beijing and Shanghai, China, and he is also the instructor for our Global Issues course. This course follows a text called Great Decisions, and it requires Jeremy to reinvent the course on a yearly basis in association with current global events.
Jeremy is a respected educator in our building and community, and he is more than deserving of this award.
