"Jennifer's impact is felt greatly throughout the district"
Jennifer Grose, K-12 Instructional Coach, South Central Local Schools
The following testimonial was shared by South Central Local Schools in selecting Jennifer Grose as a 2015 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator.
Jennifer Grose has spent the majority of her 20-year career as a 6th grade math and social studies teacher. Four years ago, she entered the Ohio State Unviersity Math Coaching Program and began serving as a math coach in South Central Local Schools. Due to her success, she started serving as an instructional coach for the district in the 2014-2015 school year, working specifically to help students meet new learning standards.
Jennifer works with all students at South Central Local Elementary and Middle School to inspire them to work hard, think critically, and problem solve. They get excited when she walks in the room because they know they will be challenged in an engaging lesson.
Jennifer’s impact is also felt greatly from staff throughout the district. She not only coaches and leads, but she knows when to support and follow her fellow colleagues. Through the coaching program and her work with the SC Leads team of teacher leaders, she empowers teachers with knowledge and confidence to improve their instruction and revisit lessons to make data-informed decisions. Jennifer also co-hosts “Saturday Academies,” which are half-day professional development opportunities that touch on issues that teachers identified as areas of interest.
Jennifer continually raises the bar by her ability to be an engaging educator who can teach students of various learning styles and socioeconomic status, effectively managing her time and by being a model leader with high standards.
