“Due to her collaborative, problem-solving efforts, Carmelina is able to impact multiple students and staff members on a daily basis.”

Carmelina Larke, 2nd Grade Teacher, Madison-Plains Local Schools

The following story was shared by Madison-Plains Local Schools in selecting Carmelina Larke as a 2017 Celebrate Teaching Distinguished Educator.

Carmelina demonstrates professionalism throughout her classroom, her personal interactions with colleagues and administration, and takes time to communicate with parents. Mrs. Larke serves on the Building Leadership Team (BLT) and is always working to collaborate with her peers. Whenever Carmelina is faced with a challenge, she will continue to ask questions to ensure clarity and will help to share her information with others. This allows for growth throughout the building as we continue to work toward common goals.

Mrs. Larke also serves as the building representative for the Madison-Plains Education Association. Any time that she needs to discuss an issue with an administrator, she always does so in a courteous and professional manner. This allows for the union and administration to work together to make improvements to the environment of Madison-Plains Local Schools. Due to her collaborative, problem-solving efforts, Mrs. Larke is able to impact multiple students and staff members on a daily basis.
